Test Local History in Trivia Night to Digitalize 1.5 Million Newspaper Pages
The Downriver Genealogical Society needs to raise up to $300,000 to digitalize six decades of local newspapers.

If you answered the Wyandots without checking local history sources, your knowledge could make you a champion in a Downriver Geological Society trivia night to raise money to digitalize 60 years worth of Heritage Newspapers print editions, dating from 1943-2004.

The fundraiser at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept 25, at the Copeland Center, 2306 Fourth St., in Wyandotte, according to a report in The News-Herald.

Proceeds from the trivia night will offset the costs, estimated between $150,000 to $300,000, of digitalizing 1.5 million pages in nearly 40 publications.
Tickets for the event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 and trivia games at 7 p.m. Snacks, desserts, beverages and prizes will be provided.
