Viewfinder: Wyandotte Golfers Wrap Up Their Season
The Wyandotte Roosevelt Bears finish 10th at their district tournament on Grosse Ile.
The Wyandotte Bears golf team ended their season Thursday afternoon in the district round of the boys state golf tournament at Grosse Ile.
The squad struggled much of the day and came into the clubhouse with a combined score of 371. That finished them in 10th place at the event.
The top six teams move on to the regional round June 12 at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

The finish meant the end of the season for the Bears, but head coach John Mitroka has no regrets and is proud of how his squad battled.
"We didn't play very well," Mitroka said. "But it was great day weather-wise, and we went out there and fought. I'm proud of the kids for that."

Josh Hinderlighter's 89 paced the Bears, with Alex Nowacki (91), Ryan Lynch (94), Peter Caparaotta (97) and Jake Carlisle (107) rounding out the scores.
Dearborn Edsel Ford won the event with a team score of 326.
