Wayne GOP Elects Michigan's Youngest County Chair
Dillon Breen, 22, says making Wayne County competitive for GOP candidates in 2016 will be an important priority.

A 22-year-old Livonia man is the youngest ever to serve as a county Republican chairman in Michigan.
Dillon Breen, who was elected to lead the Wayne County Republican Committee, says his first task will be to help Republicans be more competitive in the heavily Democratic county, according to a news release.
“My first task is building up the GOP here in Wayne County and ensuring voters always have a choice at the ballot box,” said Breen, who has worked on legislative, congressional and presidential campaigns. “Republicans are very competitive here, despite the countywide strength of Democrats.”

Michigan is an early primary state, and winning Wayne County on the March 8, 2016, will be important for candidates for the presidency, he said.
“It’s difficult to win the Michigan primary without winning Wayne County,” Breen said. “We are already working on a major event and will be extending invitations to the candidates for the Republican presidential nomination.”

Breen was recently appointed by to serve on the city of Livonia’s Human Relations Commission. He owns his own graphics business specializing in political campaign material, and is a graduate of Adlai E. Stevenson High School and Schoolcraft Community College.
Breen replaces Symantha Heath in the Wayne County GOP leadership position.
