What Is a Revocable Living Trust and How Can It Help You?
A revocable living trust can put financial worries at ease, and ensure your loved ones are taken care of after you die.

It’s safe to say most of us are consumed with our current financial situation. How much debt are we currently in? How much credit can we afford to take on? Is it the right time to make an expensive purchase? We are so focused on the here and now that it’s easy to forget about or ignore what will be. Whether we want to talk about it not, someday we’ll all leave this world and it’s important to make sure that those left behind are well taken care of.
What people may not realize is that a living trust, and specifically a revocable living trust, can put many worries at ease and set your loved ones up for a comfortable life. Like a will, a living trust is a written document which clearly states what you want to happen after you die. However, a will must go through probate whereas a living trust can be carried out right away.
A revocable living trust simply means that the trust can be revoked or that changes can be made to it. After the grantor draws up the document, it leaves title to land or property for a beneficiary which can be revoked or changed during the lifetime of the grantor. Besides the benefit of a family avoiding probate, a revocable living trust also saves time. Should you suddenly become ill or incapacitated, a trustee can take over immediately. It also provides privacy to the grantor since the details are not revealed publicly as is the case with a will.
