1. City of Ypsilanti to consider establishing its own Community Responder Program (wemu.org) — Ypsilanti officials are weighing a $1 million plan to launch an unarmed Community Responder team for non-violent mental health emergencies, separate from the police department. City Council is set to discuss the proposal tonight, with supporters saying it fulfills a long-discussed campaign promise and could reshape how crises are handled locally, especially if Washtenaw County joins in with funding and staff support.
