$300K Paid To Minnesotans For Getting Vaccinated

Since July 30, Minnesota residents age 12 and older will be given $100 if they receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

MINNESOTA —A total of 30,000 Minnesotans will be getting paid a combined $300,000 for getting vaccinated against COVID-19 in the last few weeks, Gov. Tim Walz announced Wednesday.

Since July 30, residents age 12 and older will be given $100 if they receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Walz said he's tapping into $2.5 million of the state's American Rescue Plan fund for the incentive program.

Just over 54 percent of all residents are fully vaccinated, according to the latest numbers from the Minnesota Department of Health.

"President Biden is calling for a nationwide push to make sure our families and communities are vaccinated and protected against COVID-19 and the Delta variant, and Minnesota is ready to join the effort," Walz said when he announced the program last month.

"We have made so much progress to combat this virus. We cannot give up ground now, especially with students returning to the classroom this fall. Getting paid $100 to keep your family safe is a pretty good deal – all you have to do is roll up your sleeves."

To receive $100, Minnesotans must receive their first dose between Friday, July 30 and Sunday, Aug. 15. Once you receive your shot, you can claim your reward here.
