Cloquet Super 8 Motel Shooter, Victims Identified
Police on Wednesday released the names of the shooter and victims killed at a Super 8 motel on Monday night in Cloquet.

CLOQUET, MN — Police on Wednesday released the names of the gunman and victims killed at a Super 8 motel on Monday night.
The shooter was identified as Nicholas Elliot Lenius, 32, of Ramsey. Police found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The victim found shot dead inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the motel was identified as Patrick Jeffrey Roers of Deer River.

The hotel clerk was identified as Shellby Marie Trettel, 22, of Cloquet. She died of her injuries at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth on the night of the shooting.
"On behalf of the Cloquet Police Department, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the families and friends affected by the tragic incident," the agency said in a statement.
