Ilhan Omar Speaks Our Against Trump Administration Travel Ban

Omar, who immigrated to the U.S. as a refugee from Somalia, called the policy "destructive for millions of people around the world."

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Rep. Ilhan Omar spoke out Tuesday against President Donald Trump’s travel ban as the policy headed to a House of Representatives subcommittee hearing.

The hearing addressed a proclamation by Trump in September 2017, which restricted travel into the U.S. by individuals from eight countries, including six that are majority-Muslim. The Supreme Court determined in June 2018 that the decision was a lawful exercise of the President’s power.
