MN Weather: When Will The Rain Fall In The Twin Cities

TWIN CITIES, MN — Showers and possible thunderstorms are set to arrive in the Twin Cities metro area late Thursday night and last into Friday morning.

"Rain will spread slowly across the area from west to east today, and taper off from west to east on Friday morning," the National Weather Service said.

"Heavy rain is possible in western Minnesota. Mainly dry weather follows this system with temperatures a little below average."

Thursday: Cloudy, with a high near 72. Southeast wind around 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1am. Low around 61. Southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7am and 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 68. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Light northwest wind becoming west northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
