Post On Clay County GOP Page Compared Bernie Sanders To Hitler
Jewish Community Action in Minnesota called the Facebook post deeply offensive and anti-Semitic.

CLAY COUNTY, MN — Republican Party of Minnesota chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan Tuesday condemned a Facebook post shared on the Clay County Republican Party page. The post — which has been deleted — compared Sen. Bernie Sanders to Hitler.
Carnahan's statement came after Jewish Community Action in Minnesota tweeted about the post, calling it deeply offensive and anti-Semitic.
Earlier today we saw this post from the @mnGOP in Clay County, comparing Sen. Bernie Sanders to Hitler. There are a LOT of reasons this is a ridiculous, spurious comparison, and even more reasons why its deeply offensive, and anti-Semitic. pic.twitter.com/jo93pq7FFc

This post was absurd. It was disgusting. And it was unquestionably, unapologetically, anti-Semitic. We deserve a public explanation for the post from @mngop, a public apology from the party, and assurances that the person responsible will not be posting in the future.

Carnahan said the post was shared by a volunteer with the Clay County Republican Party and "is not appropriate and the MNGOP does not condone these actions or their sentiment."

"We have called on the local Republican unit to remove this post and hold themselves to a higher standard in the future," she added.
"We must, Republicans and Democrats alike, do better to dispel hate and come together as Americans."

The incident comes after Carnahan on Feb. 11 stated that Rep. Ilhan Omar "harbors deep-seated anti-Semitic views" and called for her to be removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
