Manhunt In Central Minnesota Continues
Police are asking people near St. John's University to keep their doors locked while authorities search for a suspect who "may be armed."
STEARNS COUNTY, MN — The Minnesota State Patrol is urging residents near St. John’s University to remain indoors and keep their doors and windows locked while authorities search for a suspect who may be armed.
St. John’s University is currently on lockdown, according to a news release.
The Minnesota State Patrol and the Stearns County Sherriff’s office are seeking a suspect who fled on foot in the area of St. John’s University in St. Joseph.

A State Patrol trooper stopped a suspect for suspicion of DWI.
After a preliminary breath test, the suspect punched the trooper, fled, and a pursuit began on I-94. The suspect fled on foot after all four tires on the car he was driving were damaged by spike strips, police said.

An officer involved in the pursuit saw the suspect reach his arm out of the vehicle during the pursuit.
The suspect had something black in his hand, possibly a firearm, police said. The Minnesota State Patrol and Stearns County Sheriff’s office are being assisted by K9 units and an unmanned aerial vehicle in the search. The State Patrol Aviation Unit is also assisting.
