Thousands Of Chickens Killed In Fire At Commercial Egg Farm
Forsman Farms, which sells more than 3 million eggs per day, lost thousands of birds in a blaze over the weekend, according to reports.
HOWARD LAKE, MN — Tens of thousands of chickens died over the weekend when a fire broke out at a commercial egg farm in central Minnesota, according to reports.
The blaze occurred Saturday night at Forsman Farms in Howard Lake, and required assistance from agencies across the area, according to the Dassel Fire Department.
A poultry building containing about 200,000 chickens was destroyed, KARE 11 reported, and birds in adjacent structures suffered smoke inhalation. No people were injured and the fire is thought to be an accident, according to KARE 11.
