ROSEMOUNT, MN — Highway 52 north remains closed between Coates and Highway 55 Tuesday morning after a semi truck struck the underside of a bridge while its trailer was still raised.
The collision happened at about 9:15 a.m.
Video of the crash shows the truck approaching the overpass with its trailer extended upward before the impact tears the trailer loose, throwing it onto the pavement and into one of the bridge's support columns.
A vehicle traveling behind the semi swerves and slows to avoid the debris.
Minnesota State Patrol troopers responded to the scene alongside local officials.
Northbound traffic is currently being routed to County Road 42 while crews work to clear the area. It is not yet known if the driver or anyone else was hurt, what condition the bridge is in, or when the highway will reopen.
This story is developing and will be updated as new information comes in.
