S.K.A.T.E. is a program that was established to encourage, reward and support youth hockey players who commit themselves to their schoolwork while enjoying the sport of hockey. This program recognizes skaters who achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher during the academic period which coincides with the hockey season. It is the goal of the program to significantly increase awareness among youth hockey players that performance in the classroom is more important in life than performance on the ice.
