The City of Apple Valley Public Works Department is flushing hydrants beginning Sept. 24.
Hydrants are flushed to ensure they are operational and to purge any rusty or stagnant water from the water mains. Crews begin flushing near the water treatment plant and work out to the ends of the distribution system. Flushing should be completed by Oct. 26 and hydrants requiring maintenance will then be repaired.
