Deadline to Apply for New Mortgage Assistance Program is July 22

The deadline is quickly approaching for homeowners to apply for the Emergency Homeowners’ Loan Program (EHLP) that provides mortgage assistance of up to $50,000 to eligible households. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 22 and can be obtained online at www.ehlpminnesota.com

EHLP is being funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and will provide mortgage payment relief to eligible homeowners experiencing a drop in income of at least 15 percent from temporary and involuntary unemployment or underemployment due to adverse economic conditions and/or a personal medical emergency. Full eligibility requirements are also available online at www.ehlpminnesota.com.

Applications need to be mailed to EHLP Information, c/o Minnesota Homeownership Center, 1000 Payne Avenue, Suite 200, St. Paul, MN 55130. Applications can also be faxed to 651-659-9518.
