Herbert F. Peterson, 82, of Apple Valley, formerly longtime resident of Richfield, passed away on Nov. 6, 2012, at home under the care of his family and hospice. He graduated from Hamline University as a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a longtime professional in the securities business. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Sophie Peterson; brother, Thomas; and brother-in-law, Norman Nerison. Loving husband to his wife of 54 years, Barbara (nee, Rietforts); perfect father to his daughter, Nancy Peterson and son, Mark (Lonnie) Peterson; beloved grandfather to Erin (Greg) Thompson and Nathan (fiancee Crystal) Peterson. Also survived by brothers, John and David (Lillian); sisters, Helen Nerison and Shirley (Fritz) Rodde; sisters-in-law, Adeline Peterson and Gladys (Bob) Murray; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial service 11 a.m. Tuesday with visitation one hour prior at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 7625 Chicago Ave. S., Richfield. Interment Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to House of Prayer Foundation or donor's choice.
