The Eagles took advantage of five early runs to take down the Irish.
A two-out rally in the first inning of baseball's game against Rosemount on Monday helped the Eagles take a 7-4 win at home. The game started with Rosemount scoring two runs off errors in the first inning, but Apple Valley responded in the same inning and scored five of their own.
From then on both teams played solid defense, until the fifth inning when each team scored again. Rosemount added one more run, with what started to look like a rally, but left runners on base. The Irish scored again in the seventh but couldn't keep it going, The Eagles won 7-4.
Apple Valley's Nate Reagles pitched "very well" for six innings, Coach Jeremy Hendrickson said, and notched the win for the Eagles.
