Apple Valley Church on Track to Be 2nd Largest in Minnesota

River Valley is a part of a growing movement of "mega" churches, which draw huge crowds and make heavy use of modern technology.

River Valley Church launched in 1995. It's first location was in Apple Valley.

Today, in addition to its Apple Valley campus, Rivery Valley has branches in Eagan, Edina, Faribault, Minnetrista, Shakopee, and Woodbury.

According to the Pioneer Press, River Valley is on track to become the second-biggest church in Minnesota, with a total weekly attendance around 8,000 in the church’s locations.

Rivery Valley uses Facebook to raise money, and parishioners can get text messages from the church. The weekly services are recorded and made available for download.

Pastor Rob Ketterling predicts that his weekly attendance will grow to 10,000 within the next two years.

One parishioner describes River Valley as "New Age."
