Apple Valley Girls Lacrosse Game Called Because of Storm

Bloomington Jefferson was leading 8-5 with 15:08 to play when game officials called the game because of a threatening thunderstorm.

Apple Valley and 10th-ranked Bloomington Jefferson competed in a key South Suburban Conference girls lacrosse contest Tuesday in Bloomington, but the only winner was the weather.

Jefferson led 8-5 when the game was called with 15:08 remaining in the second half because of an approaching thunderstorm. The entire game will be replayed at a later date.

With the weather turning threatening in the first half, game officials consulted the rule book at halftime and determined that 10 minutes needed to be played in the second half to make the game official. They stopped the contest immediately after Jefferson’s Brenna Murray scored at the 15:08 mark that made it 8-5 in favor of the Jaguars.
