School is out - it is the official beginning of summer vacation. I still am waiting to see the summer weather. We had two days with temperatures over 100 and now - cool and breezy. Minnesota is the only place I know where it can be 102 degrees one day and 58 degrees the next. Are the fall/winter jackets ever REALLY put away? :) So with school being out, kids ask the age old question: "WHAT CAN WE DO!?!?" First on our list this summer was VBS (Vacation Bible School). We attend Rosemount United Methodist Church and ours is going on this week. It is perfect for kids 12 and under. The younger kids love the week full of activities, crafts, songs, snacks and learning about God. The older kids love to help out. Most churches offer a VBS program during the summer and it is nice because each church seems to offer it a different week. Along with VBS, our church also offers different classes and camps for children during the summer: tea parties for the little girls, days at Lake Elmo for a week for the older ones. I encourage you to check out your church or churches in the area and their websites and see what they have to offer. Happy first week of vacation!
