Dakota County To Get Its First Portillo's Location

Plans for what will become the fourth Portillo's location in the Twin Cities have been approved.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — Dakota County is set to get its first Portillo's Hot Dogs location, with construction expected to begin this spring. Apple Valley city officials approved plans for the restaurant chain to set up shop at Cedar Avenue and County Road 42.

Portillo's, known for its menu of Chicago-style favorites, already has locations in Woodbury, Maple Grove, and Roseville.

The Apple Valley restaurant will be 7,700-square-feet in size, requiring part of the Time Square shopping center to be demolished, the Pioneer Press reports.
