6th Annual Sustainable Communities Conference

More than 600 neighborhood leaders and volunteers from throughout the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota will come together to learn, share and inspire efforts to develop more sustainable communities. Neighborhoods, schools, congregations, businesses, cities and counties will be represented.

Keynote speakers: Rob Hopkins, (via video address) co-founder of the Transition Town Movement, and Krista Leraas, co-founder of Backyard Harvest

Participants will attend workshops on: energy conservation, community gardening and local food, transition towns, waste reduction, composting and recycling, transit options, incorporating the arts in change creation, and strategies for raising awareness of sustainability issues.
