On Sunday October 23, 2011 Troop 293 will hold its annual open house to showcase all Boy Scouts has to offer. Prospective scouts and their parents can learn about troop camping, merit badges, high adventure and the troop’s commitment to service in the community.
Boy scouting is open to all boys who are 11 years old, or who have completed the fifth grade. Boys need not have been involved in cub scouting to join and join at anytime of the year through high school. It is the purpose of boy scouting to provide youth a program that that will build character and help them develop into participating citizens of their communities. This is done through a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and service projects throughout their communities.
