'Heroic Act' Saves Woman After Car Gets Stuck On Train Tracks
The Dakota County Sheriff's Office said if it weren't for three bystanders, there could have been a different outcome for the driver.
DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Authorities say a "heroic act" potentially kept a woman from suffering serious injuries after her car got stuck on train tracks in Dakota County Tuesday. At 4:41 a.m., deputies received a call about a car stuck on the railroad track by Ravenna Trail and Polk Avenue.
While enroute, deputies asked dispatch to tell CP Rail to stop all trains on that track. Authorities say there were three bystanders at the scene, trying to push the vehicle off the tracks while the owner of the vehicle was inside.
A short time later, dispatch reported that a train had hit the car.
