Jason Lewis Survey: Border Wall, Bathrooms, Abortion

In an online survey, Republican Rep. Jason Lewis is asking constituents what they think about three Trump Administration policies.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Minnesota Second District Republican Rep. Jason Lewis is asking constituents what they think about several "key policies" the Trump Administration has advanced: the topics are a Mexican border wall, bathroom facilities for transgender students, and the "Mexico City" abortion policy.

"I was honored to witness the peaceful transition of power on January 20th, just a few months ago, as President Obama left office and President Trump was sworn in," Lewis said in a statement. "The start of a new Administration, and a new Congress, involves important transitions between ways of governing and the ideas that influence successive governments. There have certainly been some significant changes in the policies the Administration has prioritized."

"I want to know your thoughts so that I can be an effective representative on your behalf in Washington, D.C.," Lewis continued. "As you know, my underlying philosophy in seeking this office was to increase your freedom. I think our society functions best when Americans are free to live their lives, innovate, and find their own American dream."

Jason Lewis Survey Questions:

Immigration: The Administration announced plans to build a wall or border fence on the entirety of our 2,000 mile southern border. Do you think this is a good idea?
Bathroom facilities for transgender students: The Administration announced that it is rescinding guidance made during the Obama Administration to instruct schools to let transgender students use the bathroom facility that corresponds with their gender identity, not their gender at birth. Do you agree that the federal government should be instructing school districts to let transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice?
Mexico City policy: The Administration has reinstated a policy known as the ‘Mexico City policy’, which means that federal U.S. aid dollars cannot go to organizations that make abortion referrals. Do you think that banning U.S. aid dollars from going to abortion referrals is a good policy?
