Letter to the Editor: Vote for Wilfahrt, Clausen

To the editor,

We all get our fill of ads and flyers from political campaigns and their “helpers” this time of year. But I was amazed at a couple I got recently from local legislative candidates. Jeff Wilfahrt (House 57B) and Greg Clausen (Senate 57) both sent “slicks” introducing themselves and outlining their public policy priorities, which happen to align with my own views. I consider both these candidates to be among the strongest I have seen over the years with a real chance to help get our state moving ahead again on the issues that are so important to our families and community—education, opportunity and fairness.  The tone of these pieces exhibited confident and positive leadership. Nothing negative about their opponents could be found in these pieces.

I also received a “slick” from one of their opponents. It was filled with derogation and derision of his opponent. Not one single word about why we should vote for that candidate, nor what that candidate would do about any of our problems if elected.

Quite a contrast … please don’t be fooled by the negativity, vote for positive change. We can’t afford another legislative session of partisan gridlock and scandal. Give Jeff Wilfahrt and Greg Clausen a chance to work hard for us.
