ROSEMOUNT, MN — Rosemount Mayor Bill Droste expressed pride in the growth and improvement of Rosemount’s quality of life, and said the city is ready to build on those strengths to meet the community’s needs and opportunities to expand Thursday during his 2017 State of the City presentation.

"Our Council is ready to meet that challenge," Droste said in a statement. "We ask for your ideas, and your support."

The mayor outlined goals recently approved by the Rosemount City Council to grow the community through economic development projects, including those at the UMore Park property and continuing the revitalization of Downtown.

The council also calls for new ways to engage citizens in city efforts. Goals also endorse developing city staff to meet new challenges, according to a news release.

The remarks came in a presentation Thursday morning at the Steeple Center to Rosemount members of the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce. This year’s address included comments from the Rosemount High School Marching Band, which will publicize the community by performing this fall in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Rosemount Area Athletic Association also shared its efforts to meet increased demand for recreational activities for the community’s youth.
