Minnesota Patrol Staff to Hand Out $50 Gift Cards Donated by Anonymous Woman

A Minnesota sheriff's office will hand out holiday gifts to local residents thanks to an anonymous donor.

A Minnesota sheriff’s office will be handing out holiday gifts to local residents thanks to a donation from a woman who wanted to remain anonymous. On Thursday, Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson said on Facebook that an elderly women came looking for him at his office.

Torgerson was out at the time, so his staff tried to get the woman's name and number so he could contact her upon my return. "Nope she wouldn't do it," Torgerson said.

She wanted to see me. So Chief Deputy Waletzki met with her. She still refused to identify herself but handed him twenty Wal-Mart gift cards with $50 each! She said give these to your deputies. Give them to kids who need a lift at Christmas time.

Torgerson said his patrol staff will now be looking for the right people, kids in particular, who could use a "little good in their lives during the holiday season."

To the kind women, I'm sorry I couldn't be there and I wish I could thank you in person. Your kindness and generosity at this time of year thinking of folks especially the children who may find this time of year a difficult time is remarkable. So thank you, thank you, thank you and God Bless Us, Everyone!!
