Minnesota Zoo Announces Death of One of its Oldest Tigers
One of the oldest tigers ever at the Minnesota Zoo has died. Molniy, age 16, was an Amur tiger.
One of the oldest tigers ever at the Minnesota Zoo has died. Molniy, age 16, was an Amur tiger.
The zoo announced Wednesday that the male tiger came to the Minnesota Zoo in 2002 and had been cared for by "an amazing team of dedicated zookeepers."
At nearly 17 years old, Molniy was one of the oldest tigers ever at the zoo. He died from chronic health issues from old age on Sunday, Nov. 27.

"Thank you for keeping the Minnesota Zoo and all those who cared for him in your thoughts," read a statement from the zoo. "Molniy will be missed by many."
