Photo Gallery: Apple Valley Boys Swimmers Compete at Section Prelims

The section 3AA boys swimming and diving prelims began Wednesday at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake. The boys teams vying for the section title are Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Eastview, Lakeville North and South, Prior Lake/Jordan and Rosemount.

Twenty-four of the Apple Valley team's 44 swims qualified for section finals, according to information from the school.

First-place finishes included the 200-meter medley relay team of senior captain Matt Wagle, senior captain Nathan France, eighth-grader Aaron Olson and senior Nate Reagles, and the 200-meter freestyle relay team of senior Tom Frekot, senior Brett Kohort, Reagles and senior captain Chris Smith.

France also finished second in the 50-meter freestyle race, and the 400-meter freestyle relay of sophomore Seth Berry, Kohorst, Reagles and Smith also finished second in that race.

Sophomore Andrew France finished third in the 100-meter freestyle.

The top 16 finishers in each event at prelims compete Friday in section finals.
