Photos: Apple Valley, Eastview Track Athletes Earn Top-5 Finishes at Conference Meet
The Eagles' boys team placed second at the SSC meet, while all teams from both schools earned Top 5 finishes
The Apple Valley and Eastview boys and girls track and field teams finished up the South Suburban Conference championships on Wednesday in Apple Valley.
The Eagles took second on the boys side with 109 points and finished fourth on the girls side with 98 points. The Lightning boys took third at 98.50, while the girls took fifth with 97 points.
Rosemount won the boys meet with 169 points, and Lakeville North won the girls event with 117 points.

Individually, Eagles and Lightning athletes had strong performances on the day.
Apple Valley’s Taylor Browning won the girls 100 meter days (12.28) and the 200 meter dash (25.20). Her teammate, Chanel Miller, won the girls 100 meter hurdles at 15.13 seconds, then won the 300 meter hurdles at 46.69 seconds.

Apple Valley’s 4x100 meter relay (Megan Maki, Jaryn Pipkins, Miller and Browning) took first place, while Eastview’s relay group of Paris Sanders, Leah Nesheim, Alex Beckman and Claire Elliott took second in both the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays.
Eastview’s Erica Bestul won the girls 800 meter run at 2:19.03. Beckman also won the triple jump competition at 37 feet, 2 inches.
On the boys side, Apple Valley’s Herschel Brazell and Quinn Hooks took first and second place, respectively, in the 100 meter dash at 11.00 and 11.04.
Eagles senior Jordan Crockett won the 200 meter dash finals at 22.35 seconds, and Kevin Davis took first in the 110 meter hurdles.
The Eagles 4x100 relay team—Kevin Davis, Jordan Crockett, Steven Wilson and Herschel Brazell—took first at 43.86, then the 4x200 relay team made up of Jalen Stewart, Hooks, Wilson and Brazell took first at 1:30.44.
For Eastview, Erik Rosvold won the 1600 meter run at 4:22.75 and took second in the 3200 meter run at 9:28.89. Charlie Krengel took first in the long jump at 21 feet, 9 inches, and Lightning teammates Frank Veldeman and Khalil Jordan took first (46-00.50) and second (45-02.00), respectively, in the triple jump.
