PHOTOS: Rosemount Boys Track Wins South Suburban Conference

The Rosemount boys track and field team won the South Suburban Conference championship on Wednesday by compiling 169 points over the two-day event at Apple Valley High School. 

The Irish held off Apple Valley, which took second with 109 points. On the girls side, Rosemount finished seventh with 59 points as Lakeville North won the meet with 117 points.

For the Irish boys, Andrew Hausmann won the 400 meter dash at 49.41, and Chandler Dye (1:56.93), Sam Temple (1:57.40) and Christopher Mergens (1:58.57) took first through third in the 800 meter run.

Mccallum took first in the 3200 meter run at 9:26.95, and teammate Nathan Rock finished right behind him in third at 9:29.61.

Joe Bjorklund (57-00.00) and Brandt Berghuis (54-00.25) took first and second in the boys shot put.

Mccallum took second in the 1600 meter run at 4:24.26, and teammate Tyler Henkemeyer took third in the same event at 4:25.72.

The 4x800 meter relay, made up of Goaner Deng, John Evenocheck, Temple and Dye, took first at 7:58.55.

Myles Phillips took second in the 200 meter dash at 22.37 and third in the 100 meter dash at 11.04.

Mergens, Deng, Andrew Hausmann and Phillips took second in the 4x200 meter relay at 1:31.36. Mergens, Evenochek, Temple and Dye took second in the 4x400 meter relay at 3:27.53.

Berghuis took third in the discus at 152-08.00.

On the girls side, senior Shade Pratt won the 400 meter dash at 56.91. Thana Hussein, Pratt, Rachel Schow and Hannah Grim won the 4x400 meter relay at 3:58.74, and Grim, Tori Grund, Laura Dennis and Pratt won the 4x800 meter relay at 9:28.39.

Katie Duff took third in the discus throw at 119 feet, 3 inches.

Dennis took fourth in the 800 meter un at 2:22.47, and Natalie Busher took fourth in the girls high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches.

Phong Dovu took third at 20 feet, 9 inches in the long jump, and Hausmann took fourth at 44 feet, 0 inches in the triple jump.
