Rosemount Boys Track and Field Wins State 'True Team' Title

The Rosemount boys track and field team won the state Class AAA True Team championship by accumulating 851 points on a damp Friday night at Stillwater High School. 

It is the second title in three years for the Irish, who won in 2009 and finished second last season.

The "True Team" concept assigns a point value to every competitor in each event, thereby rewarding a deeper team rather than a squad with a handful of elite athletes.

Rosemount won two events during the day, claiming first place in both the 4x400- and 4x800-meter relay runs.
