Rosemount to Discuss Downtown Development Plan
Rosemount will hold an open house to share proposed updates on 'Development Framework for Downtown Rosemount' on February 9.

From the City of Rosemount: The City of Rosemount will hold an open house to share proposed updates to a report titled “Development Framework for Downtown Rosemount.” It’s the first major revision of the report created in 2004 to encourage development that maintains the character and feel of Downtown.
The open house will be held on Thursday, February 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 200 of the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail.
City staff has worked since last year with representatives in the Downtown area who have served on a task force. It has included business owners, residents, and elected officials. The group has met monthly since last April to update concept plans for the eight blocks of Downtown.

The update takes into account development since 2004, such as Waterford Commons and the redevelopment of the St. Joseph’s Church and School site into the Steeple Center and a senior living facility. The proposal identifies additional opportunities for redevelopment within Downtown.
The goal of the update and accompanying concept plans is not to dictate redevelopment, but to offer ideas to potential developers of what the community would like to see in new projects for Rosemount’s Downtown.
