Rosemount Girls Basketball Falls To Apple Valley

Warner's 20 points weren't enough as Irish season ends.

The Rosemount girls basketball team’s season came to an end Wednesday as the Irish lost 68-58 to Apple Valley in the Section 3AAAA quarterfinal at Eastview High School.

Rosemount fell behind 43-33 at halftime and never recovered. Despite picking up 20 points from Elaine Warner and 11 more from Lindy Parker, the Irish (9-18) couldn’t get past the Eagles.

Hannah Grim scored eight points for Rosemount, while Rachel Hoeppner and Laura Bodurtha each scored seven points.

For Apple Valley, Jordan Sammons scored 22 points, Jaryn Pipkins had 19 points and Sydney Schalk added 11.

The Eagles (12-15) will face Eastview in the section semifinals on Saturday at St. Olaf College. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
