Rosemount Native Crowned Miss Minnesota Teen USA

Rosemount High School student Peyton Schroeder pursued pageants after a serious knee injury forced her to quit competitive dancing.

The Miss Minnesota Teen USA pageant final was held in front of a capacity crowd at the Ames Center in Burnsville Sunday. At the end of an already extraordinary night, a panel of judges selected Peyton Schroeder as Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2018. Schroeder will now advance and compete next year at the national pageant.

Born and raised in Rosemount, Peyton lives with her parents, Rick and Maureen, and her younger sister Lauren. After years of competitive dancing, Peyton suffered a knee injury in July that required reconstructive surgery and forced her to quit the sport her senior year at Rosemount High School.

Devastated, Peyton channeled her energy and passion into competing in pageants. Simply being chosen as a contestant for the Miss Minnesota Teen USA was exciting enough; she didn't expect to win.
