Son Killed Mom, Brother, 2 Family Dogs In Apple Valley: Police

Police continue to investigate the shooting deaths that took place at an Apple Valley home Saturday.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — Authorities continue to investigate the three shooting deaths that occurred in Apple Valley Saturday. Police said Sunday the shootings appeared to be "acts of family violence" that ended with the "perpetrator ending their own life."

The incident happened at a home in the 13600 block of Upper Elkwood Court.

A search warrant reviewed by FOX 9 found that a man with possible mental health issues shot and killed his brother, mother and two family dogs before shooting himself Saturday.

The incident was discovered by a family friend who was worried about them, went to their house, and found the three people two dogs dead, according to the warrant.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled that all three deaths were homicides.
