'Family Violence' In Apple Valley: Cops Say Shooter Took Own Life

The bodies of two men and one woman were found at an Apple Valley home Saturday. All died from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — Authorities say the three shooting deaths that occurred in Apple Valley Saturday appear to be "acts of family violence" that ended with the "perpetrator ending their own life."

"There are no outstanding suspects and no threat to the surrounding community," Apple Valley police said in a statement Sunday.

On Saturday just before 12:20 p.m., Apple Valley police responded to a single-family home in the 13600 block of Upper Elkwood Court. A person at the residence called and reported multiple people had been shot inside the home.

Officers responded, secured the scene, and determined there were no survivors needing medical attention. Three people, two men and one woman, were found in the residence. All died from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

Officers are currently speaking with friends, relatives, and neighbors to try and determine exactly what occurred. A team is also processing the death scene, according to a news release.
