• I-90 ramp closures near Stewartville Tuesday for bridge work (kimt.com) — If you’re driving between Austin and Rochester, expect I-90 ramp closures Tuesday at Highway 63 near Stewartville and lane closures on several bridges through August. MnDOT crews are sealing cracks and joints on 34 bridges in Mower and Olmsted counties, including multiple spans between Austin and Highway 63. Plan extra time, follow detours, and watch for flaggers.
   

• Anchoring the names of those fallen on Memorial Day (austindailyherald.com) — Memorial Day drew strong crowds to the Veterans Memorial in downtown Austin, Oakwood Cemetery, and other local cemeteries to honor those who died in service. VFW Post 1216’s Anthony Dunn reminded attendees that the day centers on those who never came home, as names from past wars were read and a wreath was placed in the Cedar River.
   

• SE Minnesota arts grants total $238K for 28 groups (kimt.com) — Austin arts groups are getting a boost, with the Austin Symphony Orchestra receiving $11,000 and MacPhail Center for Music in Austin awarded $10,575 for all-ages programming. They’re among 28 organizations across southeastern Minnesota sharing $238,495 in new arts grants supporting performances, festivals, and cultural projects.
