The company is eyeing Lake County sites, while Sen. Grant Hauschild says new state rules aim to balance economic opportunity with environmental protections and regulatory certainty for major investments in northern Minnesota. 
• Swimmers notch first dual win (elyecho.com) — Local swim fans saw a nearly 30-year-old pool record in Babbitt fall when Two Harbors’ Lucy Lane blazed through the 500-yard freestyle, even as Northeast Range/Ely swimmers notched several strong finishes. Earlier, the Nighthawks earned their first dual win of the season at Chisholm, highlighted by multiple victories and relay successes from Raegan Borchert, Lucy Luthens, and teammates.
