• UPDATE: Board votes against watershed project threatening 88-year-old's farm (valleynewslive.com) — A regional watershed board has voted not to move forward with a ditch restoration project near Barnesville that could have taken most of an 88-year-old farmer’s land out of production. After strong public opposition at multiple meetings, the Buffalo-Red River Watershed District dropped the portion affecting her farm, easing immediate concerns over lost cropland and ongoing taxes on unusable property.
