ā¢ Special Olympics recognizes local nonprofits with grants (brainerddispatch.com) ā Brainerd-area nonprofits Fishing Has No Boundaries and Camp Confidence Lions Club just received Special Olympics grants to support inclusive programs and an August 28-29 fishing event. At a Baxter ceremony, the groups joined Alexandriaās Kardinal Kitchen in sharing how the funding will expand opportunities for people with disabilities across central Minnesota.

ā¢ Hermantown/Proctor boys lacrosse outlasts Brainerd for first win of season (wdio.com) ā Brainerdās boys lacrosse team fell 8-4 on the road Friday as Hermantown/Proctor controlled their home opener from the opening minutes. Brainerd trailed 4-1 by the second quarter and couldnāt solve Stealth goalie Beau Katzmarek, who helped secure Hermantown/Proctorās first win of the season. Ā Ā Ā
