They recently told the Brainerd School Board how Unified Partners classes, events, and daily interactions are changing school culture by centering friendship, leadership, and true inclusion for students of all abilities.
2. Police Blotter - Sept. 28 (brainerddispatch.com) — Recent Brainerd police reports detail multiple arrests, crashes, disturbances, thefts, and child maltreatment calls across familiar city streets, giving residents a clear picture of recent public safety activity. Incidents range from DWIs and warrants to property damage and suspicious activity, many clustered around downtown and nearby neighborhoods.
3. Brainerd man faces criminal charge for sexual assault (brainerddispatch.com) — A 21-year-old Brainerd man has been charged in Crow Wing County District Court with first-degree criminal sexual conduct after a woman reported an assault at a Brainerd home. He remains in jail on significant bail, with a court appearance set for Oct. 28 as investigators detail the alleged incident and prior assault convictions in court records.
4. Brainerd schools to partner with Little Falls for admin position (brainerddispatch.com) — Brainerd Public Schools will share an executive director of operations with Little Falls starting Oct. 1, trimming central-office costs and redirecting about $750,000 back into classrooms. The board also approved new service contracts, teacher training, a hockey arena agreement, and rescheduled its October meeting to accommodate Indigenous Peoples Day events.

Athletics: 3 Warriors earn conference honors (brainerddispatch.com) — Three Brainerd Warriors athletes have been named Central Lakes Conference Performers of the Week, spotlighting standout efforts in girls' swimming and tennis. Local fans can still catch the tennis team at home against Rocori on Sept. 29 before they wrap up regular season play and head into section playoffs.
