Missing Burnsville Child Found Safe

The Burnsville Police Department announced just after 11 a.m. that Yasin Abdulkadir​ has been located safe.

UPDATE: The Burnsville Police Department announced over Twitter just after 11 a.m. Tuesday that Yasin Abdulkadir has been located safe. Police thanked everyone who helped for their assistance.


BURNSVILLE, MN — Burnsville police are alerting the public about an 11-year-old boy who went missing this week. At approximately 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, the mother Yasin Abdulkadir, 11, reported that her son had left their apartment in the 1000 block of Burnsville Parkway W.

The mother reported that her son had left the home on his own accord. Yasin has not yet returned home.

Yasin does have a history of running away, and there is currently no specific reason to suspect any foul play, or that he is in any specific danger, according to authorities. However, police say his age and the length of time he has been gone is concerning.

Police are continuing to search for Yasin. There have been confirmed sightings of him in the area since he went missing.

He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, flip flops and red and white pants, according to a news release. The last reported sighting was in the area of Burnsville Parkway and Interstate 35W.

Anyone who sees Yasin is asked to call 911 and report his location. Anyone with tips about where he may be or past sightings should contact Detective Christine Carpenter at (952)895-4592.
