Burnsville Educator Up for Let's Dish Teacher of the Year Award

Terese Trekell, a kindergarten teacher at Gideon Pond Elementary, is in the running for the Let's Dish Teacher of the Year award.

A Burnsville teacher, Terese Trekell, has been nominated for the Let's Dish Teacher of the Year award.

You can vote for Trekell through April 30 by selecting "Apple Valley" on the drop-down menu at the Let's Dish website.

Terese truly loves all of her children and wants success for them all! She is at every school event and goes above and beyond in everything she does. She is at many events outside of school hours to support her students and gives everything she can to her students. She is always looking for new ideas to use in her classroom and everyone who has her, considers her a favorite!

The Let’s Dish program allows parents to nominate a deserving teacher. Then, residents vote for their favorite teacher online. In 2012, according to Let’s Dish, 260 teachers were nominated and 14,000 people voted. Let's Dish has six locations in Minnesota—including one in Apple Valley—where customers can come and prepare meals to freeze and eat at home.

A winning teacher will be selected for each of Let's Dish's Minnesota locations. You can vote now on the Let's Dish website. Winners will be announced in early May.

The top vote-getters will receive eight meal sessions at Let’s Dish.
