Burnsville Home Destroyed in City's 'Worst Fire' this Year
Burnsville's Assistant Fire Chief Doug Nelson said it was the worst fire in the city this year.

A fire destroyed a home on the 13000 block of Sunset Lake Drive in Burnsville Sunday afternoon.
The Burnsville Sun reported that nobody was injured in the fire, and that one of two residents was home at the time.

"The neighbors in the neighborhood were very helpful and supportive to the homeowners," he said.
Preliminary evidence shows the fire began on the home’s vinyl siding before engulfing the home's roof and attic.

A neighbor called 911 at 4:49 p.m., and fire crews arrived at 4:55 p.m. By that time, the fire had reached the front door.
"Vinyl siding is highly combustible," Nelson said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
