Joyce and Huston began doing CPR until paramedics arrived. The girl was then moved into an ambulance, and Joyce continued compressions until medics were ready to transport. Joyce and Huston followed the girl to the hospital with the girl’s mother.

Prior to reaching the hospital, they learned the good news that the girl had regained a pulse.

On June 2, Joyce visited the victim and her mother at their home, and was very pleased to see she
had made a full recovery.

Because of their quick actions and exceptional response, Huston and Joyce saved a

The award is provided by Burnsville Police Department leadership to officers who show exceptional performance of their duties.
