Gas Leak, Power Outage Delay Burnsville, Eagan Schools
Thursday night's storms, which included heavy winds, may have damaged the building and caused the leak.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 delayed school start times by two hours Friday morning to allow a key transportation building to be ventilated following a gas leak.
At about 5:10 a.m., the Burnsville Fire Department was called to a report of a gas smell in the Burnsville school bus garage on the 3100 block of Highway 13. Crews arrived and confirmed the leak.
The utility company was called to shut off the building’s gas supply, and fire crews were able to safely ventilate the building. Officials believe that Thursday night’s storms, which included heavy straight-line winds, may have caused damage to the building prompting the leak.
