After observing classrooms at Sky Oaks Elementary on December 17, 2013, Anne Beninghof said co-teaching at the school "is exactly what co-teaching should look like".
Beninghof is a nationally-recognized leader in the field of co-teaching, and author of Co-Teaching That Works.
Co-teaching places two teachers in a classroom in order to create a focused system of academic interventions in the core classes.
"In our building, more than half of our classrooms are led by co-teachers", says Principal Drew Goeldner. "They're effective because it creates a learning environment that truly identifies student needs, and allows our staff to effectively address their needs."
